Boys Varsity Swimming, Girls Varsity Swimming · Martin and Gildersleeve To Guide Swim Program


The MSD of Martinsville, approved on Thursday, August 16, 2018, the recommendation to hire Breanna Martin and Jake Gildersleeve as swim coaches.  Breanna leaves the Franklin High School swim team and Franklin Regional Swim Team to guide the girls program.  Breanna is a former Artesian swimmer who briefly lead the Artesian Swim Club.  Breanna helped guide Franklin boys team to a 2nd place finish and the girls team to a 4th place finish in the 2018 IHSAA State Finals.  She has coached and developed state, divisional and nationally ranked swimmers.

Jake Gildersleeve another former Artesian swimmer, takes the reigns as boys’ coach.  Jake has worked in the Franklin Regional Swim Team program and coached at the Indiana University Swim Camp.  He also served as the middle school head coach at Franklin.  Jake has coached and developed state, divisional and nationally ranked swimmers as well.

“Breanna and Jake bring enthusiasm, passion for swimming, and tremendous experience to the Artesian Swim program.  Both have seen success and what it takes at the highest level.  We are excited to see them grow the program through a swim club and to lead our high school program.” stated Martinsville High School Athletic Director Kip Staggs.
