Martinsville Artesians Baseball Varsity Claims Blow-Out Victory Over Whiteland, 10-4

Martinsville Artesians Baseball Varsity blew out Whiteland 10-4 on Tuesday.

Whiteland took an early lead in the second inning. Chase Bennett singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.

Martinsville Artesians Baseball Varsity took the lead for good with four runs in the third inning. In the third Peyton Lewis drew a walk, scoring one run, Matt Thomas grounded out, scoring one run, and Jacob Burkett singled on a 2-1 count, scoring two runs.

Triston Lanham led things off on the mound for Martinsville Artesians Baseball Varsity. He lasted three innings, allowing four hits and three runs while striking out three and walking one.

Luke Helton started the game for Whiteland. He went three innings, allowing five runs on four hits and striking out two. Tyler Wick and Lukas Cline entered the game from the bullpen, throwing two and a third innings and two-thirds of an inning respectively.

Whiteland socked two home runs on the day. Iyan Pelfree had a dinger in the third inning. Bennett went deep in the first inning.
